Ditto on Green St. near 15th. What's really bad is at least once a day we'll turn on the TV and get no sound - you have to start playing something from the dvr to get the sound to kick in. Makes me scream every time it happens.

This is a known issue with the Motorola DVR box. There is a workaround fix for it... simply don't turn off the cable box. We just turn off our TV but leave the power on the DVR cable box alone and the problem hasn't occurred since.

Another problem I found is that even though my DVR box has 2 tuners, if I started recording something and tried to change channels, it would try to cancel the recording rather than simply using the 2nd tuner. I found out that there is a way to program the remote so that you can manually switch between tuners. That way, when I start to record something and want to change the channel, I just swap to the 2nd tuner and everything is cool.

A list of bugs, plus instructions to reprogram the remote can be found here:

Wow, someone dug this up from a year ago. Sorry, my cable has been fine for about 10 months now.

Actually had Comcast out yesterday with the same TV problems, but also b/c we are having the same problem with our internet connection (freezing up, coming back a few seconds later). They came u and said they are going to send the "line crew"...something with the signal coming in.

I wish we had Verizon FIOS and cable in our neighborhood. I would switch in a minute.

Has anybody experienced the picture going black? Or is my TV dying?

Picture goes black in HD for a few seconds every now and then. The internet connection is the big issue-seems to drop for a few seconds at least once an hour, mostly at night during the week. We're in Old City.
