Okay, I'm you're ready for a vent. On Sat night there was a scuffle outside of my apt. A fight, maybe four or five people with 50 or so ppl watching. this was happening in the middle of the street. people started climbing street lights and fences. I figured I'd better call the cops before it got out of hand. They were there in less than 30 seconds. I was completely impressed. All I said was there was a big fight in the middle of the street. No I couldn't see if they had weapons all though I didn't think so. so I thought I'd say something positive about our cops.

I have been indirectly involved (i.e. called 911) and was pertty surprised at the response when the call is clearly made "urgent".
- crazy person frightening people waiting for the bus
- van/cyclist collision
- alarm at a residence (I didnt call - but they showed up right quick!)

They've come en masse in less than a minute when we had to call them one time due to an attempted break in...

However, after calling the 5th yesterday due to a hit and run on our car, and then being instructed to call 911 instead, they took about 20 minutes. That I can understand because it really wasn't urgent.
