I know a lot of you folks that read this section of Phillyblog ONLY read this section of Phillyblog so I'll fill in a bit on the changes you're seeing. From my non-techie understanding of things, we changed to both a dedicated server to handle the massive volume of hits to the site (we're popular, what can we say!?!) and a new format because we were having problems with site stability. This new and improved version, called VBulletin, has been far more successful against worms, hacks and general malfunctioning. The straw that broke the camel's back that led to changing from phpbb to VBulletin was losing 2 weeks worth of posts...It's my understanding all the posts were backed up and will be slowly added to Phillyblog again. The search feature at the top also isn't fully functioning yet and will have to be toyed with at some point.

In the meantime, feel free to re-post all your Fishtown thoughts, experiences and critiques you may have as we're all in the same boat, trying to adjust to VBulletin.

One of the reasons we switched to vB was because it's reputation for brewing a decent cup of Joe.

Unfortunately, our attempts to enable the coffee making feature of vBulletin has been problematic to say the least.

It appears a server upgrade is the only way to get this feature working.

Through a special deal worked out with vB and Bill Gates...every response to this post will generate $1 in PB's offshore "Save the coffee" fund. 10,000 responses and the coffee should flow like lava out of Kilauea.

Any guest/lurker out there who reads this please note by registering and posting to this thread vB and BG have agreed to pledge $100 for each and everyone of you. We know there are alot of you out there. You can make a difference. Please..... do it for the coffee.
