Ah, you know it's Spring when the Garden Center opens...

(C'mon already Spring!)

A few questions...

Can you get dirt/sod there? Do you have wheelbarrows?

I need to fill in a rather large hole that came out of nowhere that I fell into last week. Good times, good times.

Maybe I should get some dirt for my mysterious yard-hole, too.

She's not joking either.

BAH. It's still not fixed. I peered out there this morning. I need to make some calls. Maybe you can help me bully some people.

Sorry for the delay, sometimes work gets in the way of my blogging.

Ah yes yard holes, twin joy to flooding basements, as a result of sinking the local creeks.

The Garden Center will have bags o' soil for sale. We also have free compost* (on the left) and mulch (on the right) provided by Fairmount Park, in the Berks Street bins. Those are accessible 24/7, but this time of year, it's hard to keep up with demand all the time, so if it's low, don't be discouraged - stop back in a day or two. Better yet, plan ahead, so your weekend planting frenzy can continue unfettered.

We don't usually carry sod, but if popular demand dictates...

Brooke, there is a wheelbarrow, but you may have to leave your dog as escrow. Actually, since it could very well be in use, I might recommend a car, wagon, granny cart, biek basket, boyfriend or multiple trips.

*FYI, compost is a soil enhancer, and as such can not support plant life in and of itself.

Any luck with those yard holes?

While we're in the process of scheduling workshops, what would you like to see & learn?
