There's a house I might want to buy. I know the person listed on the brt site is deceased.

How do I go about finding who owns it?

You can call the Register of Wills office and they will be able to tell you who the Executor is for the deceased's estate and who the attorney is. That would be the person who would be authorized to sell it.

If there is a probated will. Tons of properties in Philadelphia have tangled titles where the owner died and the family just stayed there, sometimes for generations. If a will was never probated on the estate, it can be a mess to get the title transferred to anyone many years later.

If you go to the brt website it will give you the current owner.
