Also be sure to file an online role call complaint which will be reviewed by the Captain of your district and it will be referred to the Narcotics Unit. It may take some time, but we just had multiple wide ranging busts throughout South Philly for cases they had been working on for quite some time.

Awesome job Scott and G.A.! I know that heroin dealing house well, there has been open air dealing going on in that house since forever. These people need the occasional wake up call and the G Angels being right across the street for a day is just that. The dealing is still ongoing and will be as long as the person who lives there does but this makes me chuckle that they were uncomfortable in their trade for a brief moment. I have friends that live right there, as well as around the corner from that spot too and there are two houses that cause issues on that block.

Are the problem houses on the 200 block to thompson street? We've been thinking of relocating to the area and would love to avoid blocks with known drug houses. Any info would be much appreciated.

Ask for a poll of people on this board if there's a "drug house" on their street and you'll have every block in the City of Philadelphia listed in some form or another. Drugs are everywhere, so welcome to the "Big City" I suppose. Yes, drugs are bad, but the big difference is whether or not a by-product of the drugs, is violence (often associated with the trade). Our area is gentrifying very quick due to location, proximity to the El and shops, etc, etc, etc. So, in our situation violence on E. Thompson St. is not an issue at all. Others areas/street will tell you a different story I'm sure! Having the angels around as a support mechanism to further push this type of stuff out is welcomed by everyone but those under the microscope. We’re being as proactive as we can. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the welcome Canada. It's just thirty odd years late. Having been born and raised in Kensington and Juniata, I'm pretty sure "living in the city" doesn't constitute having drug houses on your block. I'm sorry if you feel this way or are willing to accept such a thing as life in the city. Drug houses may not necessarily equate with violence, but they often do attract burglaries and car break-ins, etc. Just not looking to be on a block with such activity.

Thanks again for the welcome...it's good to be here...I hope I can cut it in the "Big City"

Do you have any clue how many blocks there are in the city?

But for those of you that live nearby please tell us...Is this a notorious drug corner/street? Is it a trouble spot, ie, crimes relates to the drug trade or are the dealers and users just a nuisance and not a threat to personal safety?

We have heard nothing but good things about the area and if we were to move in the police would quickly know our names as I would call every night until the problem stopped.

Let me know your thoughts

I moved to this neighborhood 4 years ago from the most perfect apartment in Old City. At first I didn't think I would stay here long, but year by year, month by month, day by day it has become a great place to live. Every neighorhood has that "one" house that just doesn't match what most people on the block are looking for. The fact that the Guardian Angels were here is just a sign that the neighborhood has grown strong enough as to not permit ANY drugs or illegal activity here, it's not welcome on any level. To me this is a really good sign, the more people that move here looking for a high quality of life, the better the neighborhood is going to get.
