That sucks they are teearing down the old structure, as that is what I take that article to have said. I dont mind the new one but the old one has such great architecture for an industrial building.
They really should try to get it converted to offices or condos. They did it with the Chester Power Station a few years back. |

THe company only did it becuase of the hand-out taxpayers gave them. Yeah... anything can be done with money and no taxes. but will the cost ever be recouped by Chester? and will Synergy relocate when the abatement runs out? The same question goes for Philadelphia. It's like we run cities on credit now and not taxes. and the only way you can "restore" these buildings is to run up the credit card i the hopes of being able to pay it off in the future. So... should the city run up the credit cards to have someone locate to the river and not pay taxes?
