We had a tack in our tire and got it "fixed" at Pep Boys - and ended up having a blowout in the 5th Street tunnel about a week later.

We did get a new tire from there, though, and had no problems.

I thought of that and called my local station and they charged $30 per tire!

Go to a chain tire store like a Goodyear, Firestone, NTB, etc. Now this is just to mount and balance your tire....i highly suggest not going to most of these shops for anything else. They usually charge 10-20 bucks per tire. Even with 25 bucks a tire more, its worth it to buy from tirerack. Some places (I know firestone offered, not sure if its corporate authorized or from the individual franchise owner) will try to match the price of tires if you bring them the listing.

Pep boys is the worste! They did my tires once and forgot to put my hub caps on. When I got home and noticed they couldn't find them. Told me to buy new ones from the dealership and give them the receipt. Another time they did the brakes on my truck, looks like they wacked the grease cap off with a hammer and the next week all the bearing grease for my front wheels was running out all over the place.

I went online to Tire Rack and then had Mike at B&D Auto (Belgrade and Dauphin) put them on. Forgot how much he charged me per tire but I heard it was a going rate.

Tire Rack delivered them right to the auto shop which made the logistics much easier.
