Thumbs up Get fit this Summer in Fishtown!

Hello Folks,

I run a fitness boot camp called Punk Rock Boot Camp in Fishtown. We are holding our first-ever Appreciation Day on Saturday 7/28. Everyone is invited to this FREE fitness workshop. Check out the details below for more info, or visit: www.punkrockbootcamp.com.

PUNK ROCK BOOT CAMP ANNOUNCES
"PUNK ROCK BOOT CAMP APPRECIATION DAY"
A Free Fitness Workshop for Philadelphians of All Ages and Lifestyles

On Saturday, July 28 at 12:00 noon the D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) fitness organization, Punk Rock Boot Camp (PRBC), will hold its first ever Appreciation Day at Penn Treaty Park on Delaware Avenue. The day will include a free fitness workshop, including an optional 45-minute training session and PRBC demonstration, giveaways and a raffle with prizes from Philadelphia shops and restaurants.

PRBC Appreciation Day is open to everyone, and while active participation in the workshop will be encouraged, it is not required. All attendees will receive fitness and nutrition tips from personal trainer Brian Adoff as well as complimentary Steaz Energy, the first certified all-natural, organic and fair-trade energy drink. All workshop participants will receive a complimentary raffle ticket with the chance to win free personal training sessions and gift certificates from AKA Music, Canvas Coffee Company and other local establishments.

PRBC is the D.I.Y. alternative to maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle. D.I.Y. is a term widely associated with the punk rock scene of the early 1980s and signifies the desire to "Do It Yourself." The D.I.Y. ethic is the driving force behind PRBC, which aims to empower participants by offering a total-body workout that burns fat, builds and tones muscle, improves flexibility and increases energy while educating participants. Creator and trainer, Brian Adoff, aims to provide his students with the know-how to lead healthy lives without spending money on expensive gym memberships or changing fitness fads. PRBC offers a way for people to efficiently and affordably achieve their fitness and health goals through $5 weekend drop-in camps that are open to everyone, regardless of fitness level. For a complete schedule and more information, visit www.punkrockbootcamp.com.

What's not Punk Rock about this (besides the professionally written press release)?

We do play the Cro-mags during the workout.

the boot camp looks pretty fun
if it werent for my strong aversion towards any sort of physical activity that doesnt involve walking to the bar or running from muggers, i'd so be there

I love the "punk" attitude and consider myself sharing in the Johnny Rotten attidude of saying what's on your mind and being honest.

Good luck!

I have to admit...I love this idea. Philly isn't exactly the most fit city and I'm hardly the most fit Philadelphian. But I have to say if I didn't have guests in from out of town, I'd be there. We can all be a bit more healthy...though I was more of the Riot Grrl breed...
