I didn't have anything else in my car, except for the table in my trunk. Somebody had to have seen the box in my car when I opened my trunk. They smashed my window and went right for my trunk. My glove compartment and gas tank were both open in their attempt to pop the trunk.
There is somebody who keeps getting away with this in our neighborhood and seriously needs to be caught. I reported what happened, but I feel like nobody is really keeping an eye out.

I have run into this problem before,, it seems to me that u cant have any loose items in your car because someone may be thinking that a box in the car could mean that there is money or valuables in there,, Crazy but its true. U may want to try tinting your windows or getting a really loud alarm, it works,, in some neighborhoods. If they cant see in your car, they cant suspect anything.

Ive had an expensive radio stolen out of my cars dash like two years ago. i tinted my windows and i haven't had that problem since..

Suggestion: CALL THE POLICE. They have started to fingerprint cars since it's clearly become a crime wave. Use the role call or use 911. The more it's reported, the more likely they can catch the perps

I would recommend that everyone demand fingerprinting if they are a smash and grab victim. At least that might make the po-po sit up and take notice. I know one of the precincts has a policy of not fingerprinting and one does, but I'd flip out until they do it either way.
