I used to love darts, then moved here and can't find a "dart culture" at any bar near CC. I'm surprised by that, but maybe it has to do with the level of violence in the area.

Standard Tap has a dart board but it's in a weird location that doesn't make it easy to walk through.

Also, I remember the Manayunk Sports & Social Club having a dart league. When I lived in Roxborough, my boyfriend at the time said he was joining the MSSC because he felt like he needed some more exercise...then he joined the dart league. I was bewildered.

Anyway, it doesn't seem darts are big here. Pool seems to be the bar "sport" of choice.

Philadelphia used to be the capital of darts in america, of course the american darts (widdy's), not the english. There are a couple leagues still around.

There are several leagues around, if you can't find them, you aren't looking.

O'Neals, Buffalo Billiards, Dark Horse, Kildaires, Dirty Franks, Bards, McCrossen's...

There is the OEDL league that invovles six divisions and about twenty bars. Some bars have more then one team and so on. I play on the McCrossen's one from time to time, they are on 20th between Spring Garden and Callowhill. The only bar i know of with a real serious dart scene in Nolibs is Druids Keep. But I can't remember its exact location, I want to say front and Green?

Other bars that i know off are O'neals, Bards, New Wave, Buffalo Billiards and that bar in the phoenix building.

I think I remember the owner of the Green Room at 20th & Green telling me that they were starting a darts league. Nice thing there is that the dart boards are in the basement, which is always empty, so you don't have to worry about people trying to walk by or anything.

That's funny. I think that you'd get two fit muscles in your forearm and maybe one deltoid. Interesting plan he had there.

General question To All:

If one isn't inclined to join a league are there any bars where you can casually shoot. A good pal of mine and I used to play people for drinks. That kind of thing.

Kellians used to have a dart league night. My friends and I played there when we were in school in the mid 90s. I'm not sure if they still have it.
