Yeah, I totally agree! I've always found it absolutely crazy that people would call other people trash. that's just crazy. to me it's as bad as calling people the n-word. And I guess it's the same deal because white people toss it around like its nothing.

That is a good question, because whether or not you are offended by the term, it really is perfectly descriptive.

Words like 'idiots' or 'jackasses' don't really suffice.

i don't think i used the term "white trash" in my post. i just said trashy.

Plus, not all lowlife Whites are "trash." Trust me, when you run into true "White Trash," you'll know it and never forget it. Also, calling some of these young Black criminals "thugs" is actually insulting to the thug. Just like when you call someone a "pig," you are insulting the pig since a pig is in reality a smart, nice, and often clean animal. And boy do they taste good!

yeah, but i did, and i stand by it. my sellers were white trash, no two ways about it. the point is further clarified by some of the nasty trash they left in the house after i took it over.

though i will admit i just assumed the original poster was referring to white trash which was wrong of me. my bad.

to me, the apparant trouble seems to stem from the fact that, at least in the vernacular, "white trash" is in the common conciousness, and conjurs up a shared pejoritive image. with two sylables, you are painting a vivid picture. The trouble is, that one of the sylibles is a skin color and therfore raises the hackles on anyone wishing for society less striated by color and class. "White" as a modifier implies that "Trash" on its own would not suffice to convey the depravity of the described individual. As if to say, well this is what you'd expect from people of color, but what makes this person more deplorable is that they are white and acting this way.

i don't really have a new word. but i'm open to suggestions.
