i re-read my post and i guess more of what i meant to say is i hope we continue to see improvements, and big ones. i have been happy overall with his first half year in office. i do love the positive attitude he brings to this city; hopefully it changes some of the poisoned minds in the city, the ones who think it's OK to, say, shoot your neighbor, or dump your garbage out of your car at a red light, or yell unprovoked racial obscenities and throw rocks and glass bottles at people who are just walking by (this really happened to me on 6th street a couple weeks ago! i threw the rocks right back and they ended up retreating). i think this city govt needs to stand up, grow a set, and take more of a hard stance on these issues.

coincidentally, the metro printed an opinion piece on this exact topic today.
