i've smelled smoke for about an hour but assumed it was someone barbecueing. you can see the smoke in the air now. i think it's something bigger than a charcoal grill dinner. what's burning? i'm at randolph & cambridge. i'm going out investigating.

There's quite a bit of smoke around 3rd and Market, too. It's a junkyard fire in South Philly--no wonder it smells so awful.

yep, just biked past the firehouse at 4th and girard and they confirmed the same. nasty.

I live near 20th and Ritner. Just imagine how much it stinks this close to the fire. Holy Sh*t! Before I saw the news I thought my neighbor forgot to shut his grill off.

Oh yeah, smelled it an hour ago and had to close the windows on the house which sucks 'cos the weather is perfectomundo! Went upstairs and looked out the windows and the city is almost smoked out of view, c r a z y !!!

I thought the shell next to me was on fire...smelled like an electrical fire to me. I went outside and a few neighbors came out as well, looking for the source. An officer of the 26th pulled over and told us about the tire fire and I saw it confirmed on the news last night.

wow.. i smelled that joint last night all the way up in the NE. At first I thought it was my burning passion for teaching, but then I realized that teaching was more like burning trash/paper, and not rubber.
