Gtown - your post made me laugh!
I'm near 11th and Dickinson and the smell here was amazingly nasty! Thankfully (I suppose), I knew what the smell was as I had caught the 10 o'clock news and they had mentioned it.
At first I closed all the windows, but - too late - the smell had already permeated the house. Didn't know what to do then - open the house for ventilation or keep it closed in case the smell/smoke got worse?
Decided to close the windows and hide under the covers hoping not to vomit and being optimistic that if we needed to be evacuated due to anything toxic in the air, we'd be notified - right?
Around 12:45AM I opened the window again and things outside were much better.
Don't mean to be dramatic, but the one really good sense I have is smell and so this was really nasty for me.
