Fishtown Neighbors Association Meeting - September 16, 2004
After the summer break, the Monthly FNA General Meeting returns on September 16, 2004 from 7PM to 9PM.
The meeting is held at the Fishtown Recreation Center (Montgomery Ave and Moyer Street).

I went tonight, although I missed the first 20 minutes.
Lots of committee reports and upcoming events. The meeting was happily civil. No single major issue arose.

As an afterthought, the one thing that did arise for a semi-extended discussion was the new newspaper, which will be called "The Spirit of Fishtown". (There will also be a "Spirit of Port Richmond" and a "Spirit of Bridesburg".) The first issue is expected October 19.
The editor of the Spirit gave some criticism and unfavorable characterizations of Knight-Ridder and of the Fishtown Star since Knight-Ridder took over. The editor of the Fishtown Star was there covering the meeting and disagreed with some of the criticisms and characterizations.
