Noticed new bar on Frankford Avenue, just below St. Mary Hospital. I didn't quite get the complete name. It's Dickens...something or other but looks interesting. Wondered if the Dickens theme is carried inside or if anyone has tried it yet???

It's called Dicken's Myth. It's not really a new bar I don't think--just a reworking of the former bar. It's got a Top 40 jukebox and last time I was in, they still allowed smoking. It's pretty small inside. They seem to serve some bar food and the beer specials are good. Because it's called "Dickens Myth" (shooting off the fact that Fishtown wasn't actually named by Charles Dickens) it doesn't have any Dickens-esque stuff inside.

I was thinking of trying it.
It was totally stripped out and rehabbed not too long ago.
It had been pretty rough before, drugs etc..
I hope they have rehabbed the guest list.
Can't remember actual time frame as to when.

Thanks for the info. We were thinking of trying it (a few friends), but weren't sure what it was like. Someone mentioned that prior to this new rehab that it had a bad rep., but possibly new owners?
It caught our eye because of all the revitalization going on in and around there - that and the name.
