Default Where to get rid of an old car battery

I found the page on Phila.gov, but all the locations looked far away, as did the next collection date. Any place in Fishtown/NL where I can get rid of an old car battery?

sure there's plenty of empty lots, dark alleys, and unattended dumpsters.

oh... you meant a nontraditional, environmental-friendly way! ;-)

try checking the city's Street Department webpage for info on disposal of hazardous items. There are designated times and locations.

also, some garages might do it for a fee.

Just drop it off at the curb - folks won't notice another one.

Because there isn't a forum for Kensington or Northern Liberties and I'm a 5 minute walk from Fishtown?!?!

"Where to get rid of an old car battery?"

Leave it on the corner near my house overnight. When you wake up it'll be gone. Fishtown has some "car battery elves" that have been providing this service for many years. They come in the middle of the night - and just like that - SNAP! Your car battery is outta your car and off your hands forever. Coincidentally, these guys are also the "loose change in your ashtray" elves.

I wonder if these are the same elves that work at Star Shoe Repair on Girahd Av.

Hey, those guys rock at Shoe Star Repair on Girard. Just dropped off 4 pairs there yesterday and it was only $18.50! Usually I just throw shoes out--I had no idea how cheap they were to fix! The married couple that runs the place are super sweet and sharp as a tack.
