My friend and I are looking for a nice 2 bedroom in Fishtown...not too far from Girard if possible. If anyone has any properties available or knows of any good sources besides PW and craigslist please give me a heads up....thanks!!!

I think there is a 2-3 bedroom now available on 1100 Oxford. Just make sure you feed the dog EVERY day, he tends to get very hungry.

I don't kow if you're still looking, but last time I moved, I just kept my eyes open for "For Rent" signs while I walked or biked around. I already lived and worked here though, so it was pretty easy for me. But like any neighborhood, Fishtown varies from street to street, so especially if you're new to the area, I'd recommend this to get a feel for individual blocks before you sign a lease.

A lot of properties are not affiliated with realtors or investors, and probably not advertised in newspapers or websites. But try the Fishtown Star, which has recently been bought by a subsidiary of PNI/Knight Ridder, but maintains its classifieds section, despite many changes for the worst.

Also try craigslist.com and off-campus college housing services.
