COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN PLANNING AND ZONING
A Workshop hosted by Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future and New Kensington Community Development Corporation Philadelphia is experiencing an unprecedented level of development in many of its neighborhoods. While development can bring revitalization and much needed revenue to the city, it can also bring many problems if not done with care and consideration for neighborhood character and its residents. Many community leaders are finding themselves lost in the zoning process. This workshop will cover the basic topics to help communities learn about zoning and what role they can play in pushing for smart development. -What is zoning and how does it work in Philadelphia? -What is the relationship between planning and zoning? -What role can community organizations play in the zoning process?
