Default Moving into No. Libs, want advice!!!

So I'm moving into an owner-occupied triplex near 3rd and Fairmount. Its wonderful and I'm looking forward to actually being close to downtown (currently live in the Northeast). I know nothing about this neighborhood; not even where Liberties Walk is!

I'm hoping that y'all can tell me where the supermarkets, laundromat, nearest banks, etc are located. Fortunately parking shouldn't be too hard because giving up my car is not an option (I use it for work). Oh, but I'd love to know what bus lines go where. Thanks in advance, everyone.

LOL, I was wondering why you replied! Hey, I can't help where I found an awesome AND affordable place. I wanted to live in G-Ho or Northern Liberties, so I'm happy either way. Just wish I got as much help in this section as I did in the SWCC room.

Sorry...this question has been answered already numerous times in different posts so people get tired of recycling original answers.

I'll try...

...Liberties Walk is just below Girard Avenue between Germantown and 3rd Streets. Keep walking North on 2nd past Azure towards Girard and you'll hit it.

Supermarket--dearth of them in the area. Thriftway at Port Richmond shopping center is closest on Aramingo at York. There's a Wegmans now in Cherry Hill over the river. Google Wegmans for more info...it just opened. Lots of us like Superfresh on Delaware Avenue if you hop on 95 and get off at Columbus and head South. There's the Palm Market on 2nd and Fairmount for the convenience.

Not sure about laundromats but the drycleaner at Spring Garden and 4th is pretty good and reasonable.

Banks...there's a few on 2nd Street near Standard Tap. There's a new green bank you can't miss at Girard and Germantown area.

I'm hideous with the bus system...but the Market Frankford El you can pick up at Spring Garden and Front. Just one stop into Old City.

the two main transit lines you'l want to know are th el and the 15 trolley. the 15 will take you to the BSL and fairmount as well as the zoo. the el everywhere else. secondarily, the 43 bus on spring garden takes you to fairmount and the 57?, that runs up/down 3rd and 2nd is decent. your link to cc late night is the el shuttle which now runs every 15 min and runs down second st. whole foods is 2oth and callowhill, RTM is 12th and filbert (discounted parking if you buy $10 worth at any one vendor). the foodery six pack shop should be open soon on second st. mmm...tasty beer...you'll forget about supermarkets.

I went through several pages and couldn't find anything, which is why I asked. I figured someone had asked at some point, but who's to know how long ago? Places could close down, new places open, etc. That's why I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

This is freaking great! Thank you sooooo much. I have never used anything beyond regional rail, so I'm a novice with public transpo here. Yay!

Yeah, our new search feature stinks on here. It used to be really easy to search but now it isn't. Anyway, it certainly can't hurt to ask...but that's why we were so tardy in responding. Certainly it's better to post than NOT to post and most definitely, welcome to Phillyblog (and No. Libs!).
