1400 block of Columbia is great that's where I bought a house about two years ago it's a really quiet block with many older people on it.It's really close to everything in fishtown and the parking is great. As for the other blocks I can't say much except Huntington st is not really Fishtown IMO and Sepviva st is rather sketchy in most places, not sure about the hundred you are intersted in though.Hope I was a little help to you.

Keeping with 3 streets just seems a bit narrow because of the number of houses in the area for sale. I don't think many blocks are going to stay the same for very long, unless you plan on selling your house in the not too distant future. If I were looking to buy right now I think I would keep looking until late fall or winter unless I saw something just too wonderful to pass up. That way you will get to see much more about which houses have wet basements and that sort of thing when it starts raining for real in the early fall. Also, real estate markets are under some pressure now and people who really are motivated to sell will keep their houses on the market despite this and perhaps give you a break on the price--but not yet. Lastly, everyone in the world looks at houses in the late spring and summer, fewer potential buyers are out there in the fall and almost no one in the winter.

Thanks Tudor.....I have not limited my search to 3 streets....I have narrowed it down...so far...but nothing is in stone.....believe me I have been all over......as for the whole summer thing, yeah I know the timing is not the best, but I have a child in school, so,,,,,yadda yadda yadda, its a little easier now.....How is that park that is on Frankford and Columbia.....I heard a lady say to stay away ...but i took it with a grain of salt as I think she thinks that anyone under 50 is doing drugs.....

You mean Palmer Park, right?

The block that Pearldoggy is looking at a house on is at Susquehanna just South of Konrad Square.

The park is pretty safe although there tends to be some shady(harmless)people in it from time to time. Also some ahole lets his pitbull have the free roam of the park without a leash so it's not the greatest place to walk your dog.
