As a former tenant of the sewing factory lofts, i highly recommend not living there. There is no sound insulation between apartments. I ended up having to leave because the guy upstairs stayed up all night playing video games with the sound running through his surround system. You can hear every tiny noise through the walls, ceiling and floor. If that doesn't bother you, then maybe it will be fine. Also, don't count on immediate action from lasdon if you have a problem.
good luck |

I would agree with staying east of 5th and south of Girard. I live south of Girard in Fishtown and getting to Temple or CC from there is a snap. Also, its less dicey in my neck of the woods at night, and you also have more options for food/entertainment there than you would up there. Even if you have to take the El into Old City or CC, its 5 minutes away.
I say check out Fishtown. Good luck and welcome to Philly!.........now, repeat after me......."Phildelphya", "Acamee", and of course, "Its byuuuuutiful!" |

Hey Jimm, Girard only runs North to South in Fishtown...so you must live East or West of it if you live in Fishtown. If you live South of Girard and East of 6th, that's Northern Liberties.

Brooke,
How 'bout that! Well, I live EAST of Girard, then. In the "riverside" section of Fishtown. However, I notice that the addresses are marked as EAST or WEST Girard even in my area (Marlborough St.)................hmmmmmmmmmm........wierd. |
