Funny ,they don't do 2nd and Popular, yet they did the four corners outside of the Almanac Market with crosswalks.

A few years ago it was sickening to see the big slick of slopped paint on Spring Garden Street at Delaware Avenue, a by-product of the street being "painted" by whichever crew does this work.
Then, they did the same thing on my block of N. 5th Street and the block south of this one....700 and 800 blocks. If they're going to do painting, they should do it right or not do it at all. Or is this supposed to be a metaphor for life with our corrupt and self-serving government? |

Yeah, we have a spill like that right here at Roosevelt Boulevard and Bristol Street. Just below Broad Street, near Old York Road. Cars drove through it, tracked all around the corner, the yellow stripe in the middle of the street is covered...let an accident happen...who do you sue?
If we had clean, safe streets everything else would fall in place... Horse and carriage operators were forced to put those awful manure bags behind the horse, yet we can't get these horses a**es to clean up after they spew paint all over the street! Once again: "Welcome to Philadelphia! The place that loves ya back" speaking of "Welcome" here's a big pile of manure too...Clifton Davis (Amen!) TV star, friend of hizzoner the mare Street...is the head honcho over at Welcome America. Ex-mayoral press secretary Barb Grant (of TV FOX29 News fame) runs "CGN-Impact" Cardenas Grant Negron Communications...they had last year's festival and issued all the press credentials for the events on the parkway. ...bet if that paint was spilled on the parkway it'd be cleaned up real fast...Amen!???

Update:
Thanks to the follow-up of new NLNA President Jennifer Lewis, the Streets Dept. has now painted a crosswalk on N. 2nd at Poplar. Puts one in mind of Max Weber's dictum that "politics is the strong and slow boring of hard boards." (Probably sounded a little more eloquent in the original German.) Now if the Streets Department could just come out and relay every single parking spot on 2nd St. from Poplar to Fairmount they would be done - make any arguments you want for the directions of those spots - they are about one of the worst examples of planning I have ever seen. Sorry to get off topic, but anytime a traffic issue in NL comes up, it brings me back to my rant on those spots.....
