I have decided to start a garden club. There are a lot of gardeners here in Fishtown, I met many of you when I voluteered at the New Kensington Garden Center. Right now I'm looking for a place to meet. Mary, at Greensgrow has generously offered to let us meet there, but I think we also need an indoor spot. I will be going over to the Rec Center to check that out, but if anyone has another idea, just let me know.

I still have to talk to George at the Rec to make sure that we still have the room but it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't have any set ideas about what we will do but since I stopped volunteering at the New Kensington Garden Center, I miss talking to other gardeners. Some of the things I would like to do are

Have a plant and seed swap

Help out with some of the community gardens

Have trips to places like Longwood Gardens

Have workshops.

I am a relatively new garden enthusiast in NoLib, and I have been contemplating creating an online community for Philly Gardeners for both advice and perrennial swapping...How is this group coming along? When is the next meeting? I would love to share my vision and get ideas.
