Default parking in fishtown ??

my wife and I will be moving from upstate ny to fishtown in a few weeks. problem is we have two cars and i need to drive one down a week before our move.

are there any parking restrictions (like street cleaning on various days, etc.) that might prevent me from sitting my car on the street for a week??

thanks in advance,

-d

Nope--you should be fine. As a former Rochesterian, I welcome to the blog and welcome to Philly and Fishtown!

Default parking in fishtown??

avoid any state highways such as Girard where a car will be towed if it is perceived as abandoned, i.e. not moved for more than a few days.

You might also want to let a neighbor know if anyone asks. I don't think the city is that quick to respond to complaints though. Despite the mayor's lip service to same.

I think we will all agree some Streets have more parking available than others, but 9 time out of 10 I am usually infrom t of my house!

Also, A legally a car can not be removed from ANY public Street as long as it is legally parked and stickered, (Whether some obe perceives it to be inoperable or not)

so park at will as long as your car is registered, has an up to date inspection, and Tags!

Welcome to Fishtown,

I parked my car on 12th St in Yorktown for a couple weeks last year and got a $300 ticket for having a for-sale sign in the window ("Vehicle for Sale Displayed on Roadway").
Of course, my out-of-state registration had recently expired, which may have been the reason... guess I'll never know. Didn't have the time to fight it.

You don't need a Philly parking permit to park in Philly. Many people have out of state plates...don't worry. We have the big Jersey contingent here. If you're that worried, pm me and you can park it on my block, and if anyone asks, I'll tell them you're fine.
