Some of you may remember a plea here about a year ago for folks for a church band at Summerfield. Things never quite came together back them, but they have now. Right now we're looking for additional musicians.

Right now the band has:
* Drummer
* Bass w/ very occasional BGVs
* Rhythm (acoustic) Guitar
* Lead (electric) Guitar
* Female Lead Vocalist

It sounds like a pretty full band already, but...
* We'd like more depth/redundancy so folks can switch in and out (so the band will still be able to play if a member or two go away for the weekend)
* Our lead/electric guitarist has some health and work issues which are causing him to not be available a lot
* We need additional vocal talent
* We wouldn't mind a keyboardist in the mix
* The Bass/BGV & Female Lead Vocalist are moving to Florida sometime in the next several months

The plan is for the band to play for our weekly worship service @ 11:30 am on Sundays, starting in July. (You can sleep late and still be part of it!) Additionally, there's a weekly rehearsal - currently Tuesdays from 8:00 - 9:30 pm, although there's always the possibility of this being changed to work better with people's schedules.

Summerfield is located at E. Dauphin & Tulips Streets in Fishtown/Kensington.

Right now the band is focusing on popular worship songs (the kind of stuff you see listed at http://ccli.com/WorshipResources/Top25.cfm ), but the plan is to expand into a wider variety - including more urban & street relevant worship music, along with covers of relevant mainstream music.

This is a non-money-paying gig, although you can have all the coffee/tea/cocoa & donuts/muffins/whatever you can eat in our Coffee Cafe'. Also, I know this deity who likes to bless people, and I'll put in a good word for ya.
