Default Norris Street Cafe...

...has been sold. Apparently the owner sold his house too.

I know it's been up for sale... including the apartments above it. I didn't know it actually had been sold.

Any word whether it will continue as a cafe or other business?

I don't know who bought it or what it is supposed to become. I hope something cool since it's right down the street from me!

It's still "active" in the mls -- asking $379K -- I'll post if that changes.

Hopefully it will be something other than a cafe. Now that Rocket Cat Cafe has opened on Norris & Frankford (and it's much cooler than Norris Street Cafe, IMHO) we could use something beyond coffee and pastries...

Oh it's open....have to check that out. Hopefully it has longer hours than the Norris Street Cafe did? We could really use another new bar besides Johnny Brenda's now. Does anyone know anything about Handle Bar? I was talking to this hipster-ish guy on Saturday night at JB's and he gave me a flyer for it---I was under the impression previously that it was a biker bar and not very "hip"...

The Handle Bar is very biker. Every time I go by there, there are loads of motorcycles parked outside. We drive by verrrryyyy carefully, so as not to tip them over.

It may be sorta hip, but only if you're into Lynyrd Skynyrd. Or bikes. [/i]

Hmmm...that's what I thought. I *did* play "18 and Life" by Skid Row in JB's on Saturday and *may* have done a back to back air guitar solo...but no bikes or classic rock pour moi. Ca plane pour moi though.

Very popular bar for the Harley guys. Its actually as trendy as a biker bar can get, in Phila. They have female bartenders, bar top dancers, rowdy crowds etc. You had to see it yesterday They had a band playing on the curb, and 200++ bikes parked all around the corner. There were a few cops there making sure it dodnt get too rowdy...

My British bike is not welcome there
