Ok all speaking of neighborhood cleanup, I have just started a group for PhilaCare's clean fairmount park day, I am really hoping a lot of you sign up...you'll be able to meet a lot of the folks on here and do something good for the city at the same time.

I personally will walk door to door with you to get the petition signatures you need from your neighbors!

They will give you Bags and signs to post for people to move their cars. sometimes, you even get the brooms, and if you are scheduled as a participating block, you will get a pick up of trash that day!

I think Wil said that the group he had started was slated to work on Fairmount Park.

As for the other cleanup days, check the Philly More Beautiful section of the Streets Department for your own neighborhood cleanup date - its tied to your police district so you will need to know that.

If you can't find a group, just get a few friends and neighbors and sweep your block or clean up a bad lot close by. Then go have a few beers and the neighborhood pub.

Just to complicate things a little more (or perhaps to make things even cleaner!), Saturday the 17th is Clean Block day for the 26th district, sponsored by the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee.

Everyone is meeting at the New Kensington Garden Center at Frankford and Berks at 9:15. The cleanup goes until noon, with the cookout at Yards Brewery following. Should be a grand time...
