It takes like 10 min. to get to the new Wegmans which is about theh same as the Shop & Bag on Arimingo but Wegmans is soooo much better. The Shop Rite & Superfresh on Columbus is about a 15 min. drive thanks to the traffic. Shop Rite on Arimingo / Castor is like 15 min away as well.

Sam-

Did you go to Hobart? Geneva is a cool little town (we used to have fraternity formals at Belhurst Castle). I went to college in Ithaca and Wegman's was our regular Sunday night hangout. Really, the best supermarket ever. Depending on the location, Wegmans have aisles and aisles of ethnic food to cater to their local market.

This Rochester native (and Sam, you are correct, Wegmans--no apostrophe "s"--started in Rochester) will be shortly making a trip to Mt. Laurel.

Wegmans is really an incredible store - it puts the supermarkets around here to shame. Their stuff is not cheap - and price issues can be a touchy point for Phila. area consumers, so we'll have to see how it works out - but the Cherry Hill & Mt. Laurel locations are well thought out for hitting their target market.
I work near that store. It's March 19. I think they'll be successful. There's a lot of money in that area. Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Haddonfield, etc.

Do you still have your Shopper's Club card? I've had mine for almost 10 years now.

For all your Wegmans questions check out their About Us section: http://www.wegmans.com/about/ Their history, employment and community relations are really amazing. As is Danny Wegman's new house on Canandaigua Lake. (Actually so are his ex-wives places.)

And almost everyone in Rochester has a tale related to Danny Wegman and cocaine.

Yep, I still have my shopper's club card. Can't wait to make grocery shopping a fun night out again and stop in for coffee, get sushi and eat in the cafe after picking up a great magazine in the periodical section!

>>I went to school in Geneva, NY

I was also going to ask: Hobart? Are you a lacrosse fan?

Brooke: You're from Rochester? We lived there from '92 - '95, first in Brockport, then in the City near Monroe Ave, then right off Park Ave. We still have family & friends there (in the City, Victor & Honeoye Falls).

So when's the PB trip to Wegmans?

There's also a Wegmans opening up in Moorestown...right off of Rt. 38. It may already be open...

I was in the one in Princeton the other day. What a great store. Grocery shopping is one of my least favorite activities, but Wegmans actually makes it fun.

Not just Rochester, Shortsville too.

Don't forget to stop in the bulk section for your dog needs and your Swedish Fish fix.
