One GUESS is that they are flying them to the Tioga Marine Terminal.
Tiogia is one of the major departure points for the huge militayr Ro-Ro ships. These are used for supply runs to suppor the "war" in Central Asia (akak Iraq/Afghanistan). Also maybe they are a new model and are being tested vis a vis Willow Grove? How big were they - twin rotors? I think those are manufactured at the Boeing facility just south of the airport.

They were big C47 Chinook type helicopters...you see them and other military rotary wings every once in a while. Odds are they are taking part in a Guard training exercise...saw a squadron of Apaches a few years back.

I saw a bunch of them "parked" in the big lot on Delaware Ave., just north of the Walt Whitman Bridge.
