I'd be very upset to see this place turned into condos.

i dont even go there too often,
but i pray to our almighty lord and the miracle baby jesus that this is a hoax.

sometimes when i think about their portabello sandwich i start to drool like a dog and my stomach starts to get excited and screaming "Dude, do something about this!!!!"

if this is true...and they actually turned that into condos...that'd be awful
i cant imagine anyone wanting to live in northern liberties without being able to go to the tap

Could be true. There was a piece in the CP last week saying that they are turning Johnny Brenda's into a "Trocaderro" style club. They might need the capital - or just want to concentrate.

Ummmm, no...like I said, it's not true. I spoke to one of the owners and she said I was not the first to call and wanted to know where it all was coming from. She asked me to forward her the craigslist link which I did. She thought it was funny.

Funnier still is the fact that the Tap is owned by 2 guys. Maybe the woman you spoke to was hoaxing you?

Maybe she was. Though her e-mail address was [name]@standardtap.com. She thought the funniest part was how the employees were included in the sale, "Even if I was selling this place, how could I include the employees? You can't sell employees. $2,000,000 is a nice number though.", said the (hoax) owner with a laugh.
