a 6:00 pm TNT (Tuesday Night Thing)

for men 18 or older
(or younger, if graduated from high school or working a full-time job)

a time to get together,
hang out with each other,
talk about and do guy things,
and discover what God wants us to be as men

childcare provided

free pizza the first tuesday (november 18)

(there is also a women's group that meets at the same time)

It's more of a Post-Robert-Bligh/Post-Promise-Keepers/Post-Raisin-Bran men's thing.

Is the women's group called women being men? Cuz if so, I'm in.

That's not a very threatening gang name. They should be the Silver Lady Hawks, Or Sonic Death Bible Thumper Ladies.

Huh?

I know Promise Keepers. Robert Bligh, as in the poet? What's he have to do with men being men?

Can you explain this a little more? Is there a website for the group? I may be interested, but to figure it out, I need some Cheerios, more coffee, and a better understanding before I blot out the time.

Which group are you signing up for? The Silver Lady Hawks sounds like a senior citizens Geritol cribbage team.

In addition to being a poet, he was the author of "Iron John" and through his books and a series of interviews with Bill Moyers started the mythopoetic "Men's Movement" of the late 80s/early 90s.

To put it simply, it's a men's group for both Christians and those interested in exploring faith in Jesus. Our guiding principles are:
1) taking God & God-stuff seriously
2) not taking ourselves too seriously
3) embracing masculinity while rejecting patriarchal abuses (which already sounds suspiciously like we're breaking principle #2, but you get the idea)
