Frankford Avenue Neighborhood Clean-Up 10/8/05
Reminder---Saturday, October 8th, 9am-noon-ish
Frankford Avenue Clean-up from Girard to Lehigh Avenue. Tools, assignments and tickets for BBQ afterward will be distributed at the Garden Center, 1825 Frankford @ Berks. If you would like to volunteer as a section leader, contact Sarah @ 215-427-0350 ext. 111. I'm a section leader for the Berks area and I've got to recruit some people...private message me to help in this effort. It's rewarding because Frankford Avenue does always look so much noticeablely better afterwords and it's a great opportunity to meet helpful and positive neighbors, local businessowners and check out Yards!!! The more the merrier!

As a result of all the hard work of the volunteers and NKCDC, Frankford Avenue was looking pretty dapper on Sunday...it was a nice turnout considering that it was a rescheduled rain date. A ton of new residents turned out, which is always nice to see. We got to sample Yards' new "Love Stout" at the afterparty at Yards, which even as a non-beer drinker I thought was pretty darn tasty. Nice work, everyone!

On behalf of the neighborhood, NKCDC thanks the volunteers who sacrificed the first sunny day in a while to clean Frankford Avenue. We also have Yards, Johnny Brenda's, Fishtown Beverage & Furfari's Pretzels to thank for sustenance.

Glad the day was such a success!
Wish I coulda been there, but I was at a convention in Pittsburgh.  Actually I loved the convention. Just sad I couldn't make the cleanup raindate.
