Unhappy Parking Lot on Fairmount Ave???

hey everybody. i was walking my dog the other day and noticed the poor condition of the landscaping around the parking lot on fairmount. (across street from london). i remember in years past - or at least since it was completed - a company did the landscaping, picked weeds, spread mulch, etc. however, this year nothing. really looks like crap.

anyone know who operates this lot and who could be reached to try to address it?? looks like some of you on this board have some "connections". please help.

sounds real petty - i know - but it just really upsets me that some company is making bank on this and not taking care of it properly. that lot shoulnt be an eyesore

I think it's owned by the Spring Garden CDC. I'm too lazy to look it up on BRT. I think considering what that parking lot used to be like before they landscaped it, there's no room for complaints. However, if someone's is currently being paid to maintain it, that's a different story.

One day I'm going to buy that lot and start a business that will be the last piece of the puzzle for Fairmount Ave.

I noticed and noted the poor conditions yesterday as I was walking another philly blogger home yesterday from a neighborhood meeting. I think the corner near the playground would be a great mini community garden. I wonder if they would let the neighbors take care of this overgrown plot.

I believe wysong is correct about the ownership. Hugh, I'd start by bringing this up with the president of the FCA. You can PM me for more info if you'd like.

I agree, incidentally, except that I've thought it's looked neglected for a number of years now.

Default Parking lot on Fairmount.

Let's all vote to put it back the way it used to be. So our dogs can poopy there without having to pick the stuff up.
