I got a few photos of some idiot climbing the orange sculpture. Plus I thought it was painted with anti-graffiti paint?

Hmm, Philly wasn't the first home of this sculpture:

people climb all over the scupltures in front of the art museum and the fountains and no one freaks out about that.
this has been posted before, but that statue was donated by a PRIVATE DONOR. It may "cost" $10 million (whatever that means, how many people have a place to put that?), but it didn't cost the city that. I personally really like the statue. The color against the grass is spectacular. It doesn't bother me that people like to interact with it. The graffiti is a problem.

Meanwhile across the street, the Rocky statue was also donated but was fought tooth and nail by the Art Commission. It is extremely popular with locals and tourists yet for a long time was deemed unworthy of being at the Art Museum. I wish someone with a big dump truck would cart Iriquois away. To the dump. Perhaps it could be erected by the car crusher near the airport. A more fitting site. |

The Iroquois gets dissed yet the Rocky statue is being praised.
Yeah. Um stay classy, Philadelphia.
