Default IROQUOIS the $10 Million Jungle Gym

I got a few photos of some idiot climbing the orange sculpture. Plus I thought it was painted with anti-graffiti paint?

Anti-graffiti paint doesn't prevent graffiti, it just allows the easy removal of the taggers work.

Hmm, Philly wasn't the first home of this sculpture:

di Suvero takes back sculpture from museum

From the AP

SAN ANTONIO - A 42-foot-high sculpture loaned to the San Antonio Museum of Art for years was removed this week by its creator, who says the institution wasn't supporting his work.

I didn't know the thing moved. Great footage.

I doubt the climbers or taggers can hurt it. After all, it's a pile of heavy structural steel painted red. Any dump truck can drop off a replacement and it won't cost $10MM.

A three year old could design something better than this.

Somebody kill it, please.

people climb all over the scupltures in front of the art museum and the fountains and no one freaks out about that.

this has been posted before, but that statue was donated by a PRIVATE DONOR. It may "cost" $10 million (whatever that means, how many people have a place to put that?), but it didn't cost the city that.

I personally really like the statue. The color against the grass is spectacular. It doesn't bother me that people like to interact with it. The graffiti is a problem.

Yes. That piece of crap was donated by a private donor. With little fanfare suddenly it was in place. Practically no one but pigeons bothers to view this "work of art".

Meanwhile across the street, the Rocky statue was also donated but was fought tooth and nail by the Art Commission. It is extremely popular with locals and tourists yet for a long time was deemed unworthy of being at the Art Museum.

I wish someone with a big dump truck would cart Iriquois away. To the dump. Perhaps it could be erected by the car crusher near the airport. A more fitting site.

The Iroquois gets dissed yet the Rocky statue is being praised.

Yeah.

Um stay classy, Philadelphia.
