If that was true then you would not be complaining about the Fairmounters that dump there garbage in the public cans. |

Well this will all end if Philly decides to start charging for a few to pick up trash.

The trash can on Aspen and 24th is now completely overflowing and the one on Perot and 24th can be smelled a half a block away. Anyone have any suggestions on who to contact to take care of these? While I support the idea of having trash cans located throughout the neighborhood as a way to keep the place clean, it only works if the cans are kept clean (i.e., emptied at least every other day, if not every day). As currently implemented, these are one in the minus column for Fairmount. Definitely not an improvement.

I also wonder why these people constantly have so much trash they must dispose of while walking down the street. I virtually never have anything to throw away that can't be carried to my car or aptmnt. I will however add it to the festering sh*tpile if I come across one of these trash cans. Don't hate the trashcan, it's just doing it's job. PS - do you really carry all your trash from the day back home with you? You pack your soda cans and gum wrappers around all day to place into your private garbage? ![]() |

(think I should tell the new owners about that?)

Was just at home to pick something up and ran into two ladies from Streets and Sanitation who were picking the cans in the back of their pick-up. According to them, the cans were just temporary, for the 4th of July. The funny thing is, I think the majority of the trash accumulated in them after the 4th. I thanked them profusely for getting rid of them.
