Default Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association Meeting - June 19, 2008

Tonight is the last meeting before our summer break. We won't meet again, publicly, until September.

6:30pm
Daniel Boone School - Auditorium
26th and Jefferson

Someone from the City Planner's office is supposed to be there.

Default Anything Interesting?

Any interesting discussion yesterday? One of the hazards of a "11-7" job is those meetings are hard to make. Grocery Store? Impeach Clarke? Approve another Rita's?

It was mostly just an informational meeting. Went over committee reports and such.

The City Planner didn't show up. Again. For like the fourth time in a row. Even though Clarke at the last meeting promised there would be one here this time.

We did have someone in the neighborhood, who is also a PBer, that works for a planning firm that mentioned a willingness to work with us, so that was good and very appreciated.

Some info:

June 27th should be when our pool opens up.

The t-ball and baseball leagues at the Athletic Rec Center are going well. If you have kids that want to play, they still can. Just stop by and speak to Fred Jenkins.

The Business and Economics committee is designing a plan to set up a job fair in the neighborhood.

Also, as an aside, I am working up the group's website for proposal to the board, so a lot of this information will be more available in the future. It will most likely include a discussion forum for residents so that way local issues and information sharing can be easily facilitated. Will have an event calendar as well. Mailing list for announcements. Bylaws, treasurer reports, etc.
