Default How long to King of Prussia, daily commute driving?

I just got a job in King of Prussia and I currently live in the Art Museum area, less than a block from Kelly Drive. I've been working in Ardmore which is a 30min drive all in suburb/city setting.

My question is for those who do this commute, or have done it on a regular basis, how long does it take you both in the morning and evening during rush hour traffic?

My wife and I would love to stay in the area, but I'm worried that I will be sitting in traffic for 45min+ each way.

Thanks for the info!

I commute to KOP - I leave around 8:15 am and arrive by 9:00 am and take Kelly Drive to the City Line exit.

Great, that's the route I was thinking of taking. Is 45 min the norm with stop and go traffic, or is that smooth sailing?

Thanks for the response!

Anyone else have experience with this route or know of any alternate ways?

It is stop and go, coming home usually takes about 10 mins longer

Yup 45 min out and 1hr back in. If there is an accident or construction it can take much longer.

I agree with Johnnie and BakerGirl.

Also, you probably want to avoid entering 76E or 202N in KoP at evening rush. That merge alone is 5 - 15 minutes. Once you get through there it is not too bad. Depending where you are in KoP you can meander the back roads to get down to River Road in Gladwyne where you can jump back on 76. Six of one, half dozen of the other but always saner. It works better if you start out S or E of 76/202.

Best bet is to be able to get in early and out early.

Great, thanks for all the info and advice!

I will try a few different routes. I can work 8-5 or 8:30-5:30. So, I guess I will go for the earlier if it's better for the commute. I have two months left of my lease, so if it's too much than I will move to the burbs.

FYI - River Road in Gladwyne is closed for, I believe, six months. (I could be mistaken on the length, because I didn't pay close enough attention to the sign; but as of this past Monday it is closed for a lengthy period.)

If you leave before 7:00 & get on over by the Museum to 76E it'll be stop-n-go by the Route 1 merge & again by 476 merge but it's about 30 minutes.

If you leave anytime after 7:00 it can be closer to 40-45 minutes.

I usually leave at 6:50 & get in by 7:20. If I leave my apartment a little after 7 i won't get in until 7:45.

Do you know where / what section on River Road is closed? Is it closed to cars or can one
bicycle / walk around a closed section or barrier? How are the residents getting in or out?

One of my leisure bike routes comes down Lafayette, goes along River Rd for a while, then back up on Mill Creek Rd.
