Default Swimming Pools

Ok, it's hot! I grew up in an African country where pools were as common as they are in Arizona. Summer without pool time is like Christmas without the tree. I'm looking for any info on pools open to the public that are half decent...any info greatly received. In particular, last year I went to the pool by Memorial Hall once. It was lovely...is it open this year? times?

26th and Jefferson is a public pool and it is very nice. The BSCCA worked on getting it redone and opened up. There is even a kiddie spray area.

Unfortunately the City doesn't allow any of the public pools to be opened until around the last week of June.

Not sure how it could possibly be germain to the question Tenzo. I'm not looking for a political discourse.

I grew up in South Africa, in Apartheid S.A. - and yes, I am super aware that the vast majority of the population did NOT have swimming pools or access to the same amenities that I, as a white South African, had. All the way to 1994 when Apartheid finally ended. I witnessed its demise and it was the most memorable, euphoric day of many of our lives. I left in 1995 not intending to leave for good, but to travel...but as things panned out, I never returned to live there, though some of my family (parents, brother) are still there, and I go there once a year if I can. Making the 24 flight trek is not much fun.

Alll I am interested in knowing, is about pools in Philly now. Thanks.

Default Pool Party?

Our friend manages the pool near 33rd and Ridge in Fairmount Park. We've never gone there, preferring to bask in our AC. We did buy a plastic kiddie pool for our puppy, though, in the BTSquare!

Question Francisville pool

I had been about to start a thread on the same topic - good timing!

I'd like to hear from anyone who has used the Francisville pool. Specifically I am curious as to its cleanliness and availability of lanes during adult swim, which I am told is every weeknight from 5 PM - 7 PM.

Thanks!

I wasn't going to mention the francsiville pool because I am greedy. It's the best kept secret in the area.

The pool is huge, clean and empty every night during adult swim.

There's a pool at the Philadelphian. Tenzo can tell you how to get there.
