Default This place is not finished

Guys, cool it with the harsh reviews. It takes a few weeks to two months to get a kitchen running properly. That is why food reviewers generally wait awhile for a place to get established before doing a review.

The place is not done either. The wall decorations are being framed and it is taking longer than what was promised. I understand there will be some old time philly photos and some old time neighborhood maps...they sounded pretty cool to me. Give it time.

As far as the dividers in the bathroom. Well, jeesh, I have never heard of that.

I read on this board someone else saying the wings were good there, but when I tried them a few months ago they were horrible and overpriced!

The wings at St. Stephens are much much better (imo of course

I'm all for giving a place a chance, but I have to say my first - and second - impressions of the place are going to be very hard to undo.

When was the last time you folks went there? I've been there three times in the past week and every time we've had a good meal and good service...
All the time, though I did stop eating there.

Default Kite and Key

went to Kite and Key last Friday for dinner. Service was excellent, strangely good actually. My bf and I both had burgers, the menu def. says they have lamb in them (perhaps it didn't earlier).
Anyway, we had a great experience. THe place looks finished although I'll agree it's a bit empty. There is too much space between tables and it makes it seem sparse. They could def. cram a few more tables in up top, which would make it seem...i don't know, warmer, cozier.
The wall decorations will help I'm sure, once there up.
But at any rate, we really loved the place. The food is a heck of a lot better than the Belgian, which over and over I've found to be lacking.

When I've spoken to the owner, he's mentioned that he reads Phillyblog. And he's responsive to constructive criticism about the menu. (I know of one item he greatly improved on the basis of diner feedback.)

That may explain why the menu is now mentioning the lamb in the burger.

I think if the kitchen can deliver on the potential i know it has, then I think you will find it will be one of the better places to grab a drink and eat food in the area.

Give it until the fall/winter. I am sure when more people are around the place will be snug! Summer months are tough for any pub/restaurant, let alone one that is only a month old.
