Well, the TLA space isn't really big enough for that so let's hope not!

In response to the retail stores, I was told by the leasing office at the new Parkway 22 Condos (replacing the Best Western over on Spring Garden area) that they are tearing down that entire block radius (Spring Garden, 21st, Hamilton & 22nd streets) and replacing with Condos, Town homes and placing retail stores on the Spring Garden side. There will also be a restuarant with a sidewalk cafe on the Hamilton side.

Spring Garden needs more ground level retail as it is, losing a few stores is going to hurt.

Yes, the project is on hold now. I'm told from another source related to the project that the real estate climate is the primary factor for the pause, but the hope is that things will turn around and the developer can move forward soon. You may have seen some recent demolition there, and might see some more, but no new construction plans will be acted on right now.
