North or South tower?

I can give you some information on North tower (Cityview I)

Walls are surprisingly thick. Heating/AC element is per-room, so upkeep is contingent on who owns the condo (you or landlord). I've never heard any issues apart from the fact that when the HVAC goes south (the building was built in '76. If the HVAC was not replaced since then, its probably nearing the end of its life), it can cost a bit to replace. Common area is nice. Don't listen to anyone who says it has a tennis court, because it doesn't. Decent pool, good gym, friendly staff. Elevators work more often than not. Some larger cons I would say include the units not having individual washer/driers (there are 2 ea. per floor), individual (not building-wide) fire sensors are REALLY sensitive in some rooms, there is a moving day fee to reserve the "freight elevator".

It is a 5-10 min walk to the BSL, 10-15 min walk to Suburban and the MFL. Bus routes right outside can get you anywhere apart from UC. Parking can be a bitch on Friday nights.

I like it.

The North Tower (CityView 1) does not have w/d hookups in the units.

My bedroom (CV 1) shared a wall with the laundry room and I didn't hear anything. The walls are great!

Are you looking to buy or rent?

A number of the units have new HVAC units as they failed on settlement day or shortly after. I think they were getting $4500 installed per unit. I never turned the heat on.

Also, look at the windows. I bought just after the conversion started and the windows were leaking.

Doc: Are they planning a window assessment? Did anything else ever come of the mold drama?

If you're looking to buy, pay attention to the monthly condo fee, which is pretty high (around $450-500, depending on size) . . . though you do get a gym, pool, doorman, and good location that's pretty close to pretty much everything in Center City/Fairmount.

we'd be looking to buy sometime down the road

does the condo fee also pay for cable and/or heat?

do you know if the other tower has washer/dryer hookups in the units?

thanks!

CV1 includes all utilities!

CV2 condo fees do not include all utilities....they seem too high.
