It's interesting to see how passionate you all are about harrassed/absconded plants! I don't blame a single one of you for being mad when people mess with your stuff. Makes me feel much better, like I wasn't crazy for being so ticked off and swearing a blue streak that I'm pretty sure most of my neighbors with open windows heard and cringed through. Thanks for your support.
![]() I might have a lead on my perpetrator... will post back later if anything turns up. For now, I've replanted using bricks on the bottom of the containers as filler. No one is walking off with these planters without a bonus hernia or broken toe if/when the bottom falls out. The surveillance camera is forthcoming... Someone stole a shrub out of a planter in front of my house about two weeks ago. I have two, but, they only stole one. Same thing happened last year and my neighbor found it on the sidewalk a few blocks away and re-planted it in front of her house! She didn't realize it was mine and was trying to recycle the plant, I guess. I find it odd that the perp would take only one. Plus, it wasn't in that great condition.

Ack! Sorry for the poor absconded plants! I stood in the middle of the greenery section in Lowe's this weekend debating whether I should or should not plant this year. I didn't last year because the year before all of my plants were unplanted and tossed on my sidewalk. I HATE this part of summer in Fairmount. I was thinking of barbed wire or some sort of other deterrant. Is it really worth it at that point?
