It is being held by the West Girard Supermarket Coalition. It is a coalition of neighborhood groups working towards getting a supermarket into the neighborhood. The night is specifically towards this topic with a Q&A afterwards if time permits.

We invited all Democrat and Republican candidates for the 2nd Congressional, 3rd State Senate, 1st State Senate and 195th State House. We have had several confirmations already.

This is an open night to everyone and we expect a decent turn out of residents. The more that show up, the more it shows neighborhood support.

So, is it assumed that this coalition will be pursuing a "Supermarket-or-Bust" strategy or will alternatives (ie: co-op, smaller markets, etc) be investigated as well?

As I am not the official spokesperson for the group, I don't want to go into it and say something that the rest of the group doesn't necessarily agree with.

I would recommend attending the candidate night. That way you will be able to get a broader view of what the group is trying to accomplish as well as ask questions.

Sorry for not too much more specifics, it is obviously a delicate issue in the neighborhood and I do not want to overstep my bounds.
