Default Never going back to Jacks Firehouse

It's 5:30, I walk up to a waitress and ask if it's OK to sit at an outside table and have a few drinks with my girlfriend? "Sure, but talk to the hostess". I go to the hostess and ask the same question, she says "no problem". I say I'm going to wash my hands first and come right back. The next person takes me to a table out side, I double check again (this is the 3rd time) "OK to sit and have a few drink?". Sure, no problem was the reply. So I get comfortable and look over the menu. Maybe 2 minutes goes by and the hostess comes back to tell me the manager said I could not sit here and just have drinks

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!! What the hell is going on there! I would never have even asked if it was busy, but it was 530 and the place was empty! I told her as much, but nicer, she was just following orders. If anyone in charge at Jacks reads this, I ended up going next door, met my girl friend and we had a tab of $45 and were gone by 6:45. You loose, loosers.

I don't get it. Were their trousers not tight enough around the waist? Or were they whores?

I would have been really annoyed by that, too...but I would have ordered two of the cheapest appetizers to shut them up since you were looking for outside real estate, you know, just to shut them up.

I haven't been impressed with JFH for years...scratch that; ever.

A lot of place pull that when they have outside real estate in the spring/summer. I am surprised that JFH is one of them. Perhaps cause they were empty they were trying to drum up business. Ever been to Coyote Crossing in Conshy? In order to sit outside you have to order one entree/person. I went with a friend one night for drinks and we wanted to share an entree and they freaked out. Hope this kind of behavior doesn't make it here...

When a restaurant treats their customers like cattle, corralling them to where they see fit, despite the customers wishes, and while the place is empty, doesn't deserve anyone's business.
They are reserving the outdoor dining for eaters, not drinkers. A foolish and short-sighted call. When I go out for a few drinks, I always seem to drop and additional 30. or 40. on food too.
Stooopid manager. The place is empty, customers want to spend money there, manager chases them away. Smart.

I won't go there.

it's sad that they treat customers like that, the outdoor cafe concept here is not like in europe, or even in san francisco, where you can just enjoy the scenery/outdoors and have drinks and not be hassled. stoopid management.

I can see limiting drinking tables when a restaurant's busy.

Because some people say drinks and then they get one round and then water and some coffee and hog a table for 4 hours.

But the place isn't busy.

I refuse to go there because the bartender has never been nice or polite...as a matter of fact, he has been a jerk to me or my friends, particularly when it is busy. Mostly ignoring us, then SLAMMING drinks on the bar. It was unnecessary.
