that place has so much potential, but they never deliver...better to spend your loot elsewhere. went there one night with my gf - not impressed at all...have never been back...friends who come down to the hood are always asking me about this place, but, I give them the same response every time - overrated/overpriced

Thank you for this post..I was driving by the other day and it looked like a cool place. I will stay down here in Rittenhouse where I can drink outside without getting hasseled for food!

I agree...Coyote crossing in Conshocken is the WORSE!! They give you an attitude about ordering food right away and then when you do, it takes about an hour for them to bring the entree out.

The joint next door to Jack's said they are going to have tables out front soon, waiting on some paperwork to go through.

Your just wrong, Dean is one of the best bartenders in the city. Maybe you were the problem.

Jack stopped cooking there a few years ago, then sold it about two years ago. The decline has been steady and consistent for awhile now. It is a shame because ten years ago it was a very good place to eat.

I was actually there today. My coworker and I were going to have a late lunch. We sat at the bar, since the place was basically deserted. We ordered ice teas, and sat and perused the menu while the bartender took forever getting them to us, and chatted with people (who arrived after us) and served their drinks before getting ours. He was not friendly. We decided against lunch after all.

Jack's was recommended by someone that I know, so I went there with my wife for dinner and drinks. There was not one redeeming quality of the experience from start to finish. I even spoke with the manager explaining that I was expecting something completely different and that I would come back if he could make things right. I will never go back.

I've been to Jack's many times under the old management, and a few times under the current owners ( I've moved ) I really haven't seen any difference in the service; I'd suggest that anyone who has a problem with the service, that they speak directly to the owner, he is a nice guy.

Default Worst Meal I ever had

The last meal I had at Jacks was by far the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant ever. It was a friends birthday and we were a party of about 12. Most of us ordered the ribs. All of us had been there many times before and some were regulars. We had been talking about how good the ribs are.

The salads were fine, the booze was fine. The ribs however were horrific. It was as if they had been cooked in a microwave. Everyone at the table had the same look on their face. We immediately complained and they took the ribs back to cook some more, but for some reason could not make the ribs we had all ordered in the past. These were soggy and raw.
We complained further and they refused to remove the entrees from the bill, even though most if not all of us could not eat their meal.

Oh and the time before that I was served moldy desert. Yes MOLDY. That I was not charged for. The only reason I went back was because it was a birthday dinner for a friend. I didn't pick the place.

I have not been back since and won't go back again.

I figure that Jack's owes me about $75

My 2 cents.

Only went to JFH once, late last summer for lunch. Sat at the bar, the bartenders/waitresses were friendly enough (though we were the only people in there and kind of felt they were all trying to serve us for something to do).

However the food was absolutely disgusting. I ordered the crab-cake and my wife the chicken sandwiches. It was just pile of mush on a plate. We ate about half and left the rest. It was a shame, we had heard good things about the place and hoped it would be a regular hang out place for us.

May yet go back for a drink at some point, but feel that other bars in the area deserve my money more, with better food, and to be honest, better over-all service.

Big disappointment
