Saw the below link regarding a produce stand in Fishtown/NoLibs
http://www.citypaper.net/blogs/clog/...-girard-avenue For those more connected to the various biz groups and neighborhood associations, is there a way to approach these people to consider a second location over here? Maybe they know others of a similar mind set that would be interested in giving this a go in Fairmount.Btown? Things like this, plus the better resturants, make me consider living over there. |

You're link was all broken and stuff. Try this:
http://www.citypaper.net/blogs/clog/...-girard-avenue While I like the idea of having one of these in the neighborhood, I think it would be prudent to see how the first one does before asking them to open a 2nd. Besides... it's only a short trolley ride away. I can't wait to check it out. __Jason

There is a meeting to discuss developing a Community Food Market for Fairmount/Brewerytown coming up.
West Girard Community Council Public Meeting #7 Thursday, April 10th, 6:30PM Christian Hope Baptist Church 921 N. 26th Street (Between Poplar + Girard) Tel: 215-232-2728 Might want to check it out and get involved. Community market is different than the cornerstone shop in Fishtown. Weaver's Way in Mt. Airy is a neighborhood co-op and they certainly source produce from locally owned growers. |
