About that shooting earlier, thats a good distance away from my block and I'm not worried about it really. Theres going to be shooting and crime wherever you go in the city so **** it. I'm more worried about getting robbed and my house/car broken into etc, but i'll just get renters insurance and the club so whatever

I'm not quite set on the date for the BBQ yet. It will either be April 5th or 12th, I'll let you all know in a post when the dates get closer.

Also, I DJ from time to time and I make beats etc. (for real Hip-Hop not 50 cent style bullshit), so if anyone reading this makes music, hit me up, maybe we can set something up

I am your your next door neighbor, i take it you will be on the first floor. (BBQ). You are getting a quality place i wish Ed designed my Place and Malik built it but i went with someone else and almost regret it.

Me and my girlfriend might be moving to 29th and Girard in April. The apartment is very nice, one of the brand new ones they are renovating in that area, all new floors appliances etc. The place is definitly worthy of my occupancy. My only concern of course is the area.

Is it really as bad as I've heard?? Has it really gotten better over the past couple years?? Is that fact that me and her are white going to give us problems? I'm only saying that because we have been taunted a lot where we are at now (38th and Pearl) due to Scooters Bar (get out of our city whitey, etc.)

Also, not saying to much (you never know who reads these), but lets just say my stuff I would be moving in with would definitly be easier for someone to steal then buy.

Any input would be great. I would love to move out of the city, but my girlfriend is still in school here. We would really like to move in the place is beautiful. Thanks.

So, did you guys ever move? If so, what do you think? Is Brewerytown better or worse than the bottom, or about the same? And, didn't you promise all of us a BBQ or something once you got settled in?

Yea we moved in and from what I've seen so far it's pretty much the same as "The Bottom"...much like anywhere else in the city at that excpe tfor rittenhouse or southeast.

I got my car broken into though which never happened for the 3 years I've been in the city. Funny thing was everyone said "you will get your car broken into out there" and i shrugged it off, but now that it happened I empty my car before I park at night.

So sorry you feel it is pretty much the same as "the bottom." Many of us who have invested in this area and the homeowners that have been on this block for many years probably feel a little different.

I wished someone had forewarned you about leaving items out in in the open in your car. I'v lived in Philly off and on now for 6 years, 4 in this neighborhood, and the only time my car was broken into was in south philly.

I hope things get better for you and I hope your experience becomes a little more positive.

I like living here and hopefully nothing happens that would change my mind.

Well, I'm glad you and your girlfriend made the move, and that it's been a somewhat positive experience for you. Those of us who think Brewerytown has a bright and exciting future are always glad whenever someone new moves into the neighborhood.

Hopefully you will find it's proximity to Center City, the Art Museum, the Zoo, 76, Fairmount Park, Manayunk, etc. as a selling point that may convince you to hang out for a while in B-Town.

yea i left my CD case in the backseat and they took that but they were mostly burnt copies so no big loss. they broke the back little window so it didn't cost much to replace.
