Default Trio

Trio is awesome. People come from all over the city to go and the food and service are top notch. They just had a private party with over 150 of their most loyal patrons to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary; all food and drink were free. I wish more places in Fairmount were this exceptional and thankful to the Fairmount residents that keep them going

I haven't been to Trio but I've always wanted to check it out. I love Figs, food and service are great...but Figs is kind of small, too. There's also Aspen Street pub. They have a back dining room that might be able to accommodate you. Good bar food and such, but not as good as figs.

Does it have to be in Fairmount? St. Stephen's Green has good food now that they got a new chef...and plenty of room.

Trio's lovely, Figs's just fine if tiny, L'Oca had very nice food and very slow service the one time I tried it.

L'Oca had good food but awful service when I was there a couple months ago. Seemed like they were mismanaged in terms of how to seat groups, resulting in some parties (like mine) to be left in the cold outside waiting for too long to get a seat.

I think by far, L'Oca is the class of the neighborhood. I have been to all three and L'Oca certainly has the best food. I guess I will have to go back to Trio since people seem to like it. We have been there several times and the food was slightly above average. Figs has been good, but rather uninspired, I felt. The service can be an issue at L'Oca, but I think they have made great strides.

As for 15, if you give them a call, I am sure they will accommodate you.

Be sure to let us know what you chose and how it goes!

It's funny how people don't think l'Oca can accomodate 15 people. That's three tables of four and one table of three. It's not spaghetti warehouse, but it's not a closet either.

I'm going to l'Oca in about 15 minutes because I love the food.

how come nobody mentioned angelino's! i eat there constantly with my husband and i ALWAYS see big groups of people. food and service has always been great. if you decide to go with them ask for "susana" to serve you, she's one the owners and is very attentive.

I'm a big fan of Angelino's, and very glad they're in the neighborhood. However, the food is not even in the same ballpark as L'oca.

I've been to L'oca numerous times, and while the service was a bit spotty early on, it continues to get better from what I've seen. LaBan seemed to agree when he promoted his (premature, IMHO) 1-bell review to 2-bells. The food has always been wonderful. I've taken various out-of-town friends and family there and they've always been thoroughly pleased. I took some friends there a few weeks ago, and they are now jealous that we have a place like this walking distance from the house. They would kill to have a BYO like L'oca in the town where they live up in North Jersey.

Default they called me for my table!!!

Same thing when they opened and service being iffy, but we just went the other night and it was great.

There is no room to wait, so I gave the guy my cell number and the 4 of us went to Jacks for a drink and he called me twenty minutes later to tell me my table was ready.

Defiantly make a reservation for a large party.
